Before we begin, let’s start by doing a small brief understanding of what Uber Eats’ fraud detection system includes. So, Uber Eats has mechanisms in place to detect suspicious transactions, fraud, refund abuse, spoofing, and account takeovers. It relies on algorithms and automated checks to flag shady activity before it can cause major issues. But, just like any other system, it’s not foolproof, there are vulnerabilities.

Let me show you what it’s like to run into the fraud system actually working against you and some other hiccups you may run into:

Your card is no good.
Your card is no good.

When you add the card you get, “Payment was declined with the selected method. Please use another payment method to continue.” Your card is no good, get a new one and try again. CH probably has their card locked, or literally has $0.00 and can’t cover the simple authorization or the card was already flagged.

Your card is deactivated.
Your card is deactivated.

Typically cards are deactivated by the institute when the CH reports unauthorized payments or maybe the CH felt like deactivating the card one day. The card no longer exists, grab a new one.

STEP 1

Add your card.
Adding card.
Adding card.

STEP 2

Add the goods to your cart and order. Enjoy your food or merchandise.

Flagged.
Flagged.

If you see this it basically means they flagged you. Sometimes it goes away within a few hours or days other times it's permanent.

Sometimes you'll get thrown back to the checkout once you click order and yes many times it does mean the order won't go through but sometimes it will so always sit through them until you are sure.
